ESL ART -- CLASSES 2 AND 5 - APRIL 14TH AND 15TH -- Holiday Homework

Thank you students for doing an extraordianry job of learning language through art.  Your acquired skills in design and description will "carry" you nicely throughout your high school and college careers.

Moving forward, in keeping up with the great spirits, you must remember to take responsibility, check the blog and work on your holiday homework.

This entry will be posted with edited changes for to you look forward to in completing your holiday homework.  Please keep in mind, a required packet of listed items must be handed in at the beginning of class upon returning from vacation.  An infraction of not following the rules will greatly affect your 2nd marking period grade, for it will count as participation and homework credit and percentages.  Hence, it will be reflected in your next report card.

List of Holiday Homework Assigned  (There are three):

1)  Read ESL Art -- Classes 2 and 5 entry dated:  April 7th, 2010  -- Read the story and answer the 10 questions.
2)  Read and fill in the appropriate words in the paragraph below (*Note:  it must be rewritten on line paper)
((*This paragraph is a desciptive piece that reflects your "Impressionable Painting" in watercolor.))

My Most Impressionable Moment in New York City

While living in New York City, have you ever noticed what is most impressionable?  By analyzing my art composition entitled:  __________________________________________, one may see what is most impressionable to me.  One might ask, "Who is in the picture?"  My answer would be ______________________________________________________________________________.  Another person might ask, "What are the people doing?"  My answer would be, they are _______________________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________________
Somebody else might ask, "Where is that place in New York?"  My answer would be, it is __________
_______________________________________________________________________________
Still, another person might ask, "When is it?"  And, I would say, it is ___________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________
And last, someone else might ask, "Why did you paint this picture as your most impressionable scene?"
___________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________

3)  Define symbolism and think of a symbol that has great meaning (from your country and/or cultural traditions).  Draw this symbol on the given homework paper.
